Chapter Philanthropy and Service
Tri Delta's partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital began in 1999. Chapters all across the country contribute annually by hosting philanthropic events, participating in the Sincerely Yours letter writing campaign, and individual contributions. St. Jude is located in Memphis, TN and is one of the world's premier pediatric cancer research centers. No patient ever sees a bill, nor is any family ever turned away due to their inability to pay. It is because of TriDelta's contributions that this is made possible!
TriDelta has had many campaigns throughout their 15 year partnership with St. Jude, with the most recent one being the goal to raise $15 million in 5 years from 2010-2015. TriDelta was able to surpass this goal and raise the $15 million in just 3.5 years! Our chapter reached a new milestone in the 2015-2016 school year by raising more than $117,000 for the children of St. Jude and that number continues
to increase!
The largest philanthropic event that our chapter hosts is the Bids for Kids Auction held during the Spring semester. This auction draws the attention of parents, alumni, and other members of the Lexington community for a night of food and fun, with all monies raised for the kids! Our chapter hosts DHOP in the Fall semester by attracting all Greek organizations on campus for a pancake dinner night. The Sincerely Yours letter writing campaign also occurs in the Fall semester where we write to our family and friends urging them to join us in financially supporting St. Jude. New this past school year, we hosted a cookout pairing with a fraternity, splitting the contributions between our on-campus philanthropy of Dance Blue and St. Jude.
